About Me

The Boy and I
I recently earned my teaching certificates in math and physics, as well as a Master of Arts in Teaching. I'm on the hunt for a full-time teaching position (and getting close!), but when I need a break you can find me playing with either cats or yarn.

The first time I learned to knit, I was in second grade. My mom must have had so much patience! I didn't get back into working with yarn again until the end of high school, when Stitch 'n Bitch became popular. I had my mom teach me how to knit (again), then the next year taught myself how to crochet. This placated me for most of college. Senior year, I had to opportunity to take a class in dying yarn, and a class in weaving. One of my goals is to card, spin and dye my own yarn to use. Last summer, I purchased a table top loom, which I hope to start using soon!

I love learning new things when I knit... Socks are hard because after I finish the first sock, I don't want to repeat the same pattern to make the second one! Bamboo needles are a must, and I'm delay weaving in ends at all costs...
